RRB announced 368 vacancies for the Section Controller post. However, candidates should remember that Railway authorities may increase or reduce vacancies when required.

Candidates may use the direct CBAT scorecard login when the portal remains active.

Those who applied through another region can use the official list of regional RRB websites to find the correct portal.

After opening the scorecard, candidates should check all the information shown on the screen.

The scorecard may include:

  RRB CBAT Qualifying Marks 2026

Candidates must obtain a minimum T-score of 42 in each CBAT test battery.

This rule applies to every category, including:

• UR
• OBC-NCL
• SC
• ST
• EWS
• Ex-Servicemen

RRB does not offer category-based relaxation in the minimum CBAT T-score. Therefore, candidates must qualify in every test battery separately.

A high score in one battery cannot cover a low score in another battery. RRB considers only candidates who pass each battery.

     Is There Negative Marking in RRB CBAT?

No. RRB does not apply negative marking in the Computer-Based Aptitude Test.

However, the CBT followed a different rule. RRB deducted one-third of the allotted marks for every wrong CBT answer. Therefore, candidates should not confuse the CBT marking rules with the CBAT rules.

   RRB CBAT Result 2026 and Final Merit List

RRB considers only candidates who qualify in every CBAT test battery.

The board uses the following weightage to prepare the combined merit list:

First, RRB applies 70% weightage to the CBT marks. Next, it adds 30% weightage from the CBAT marks.

The board also considers:

• Combined CBT and CBAT marks
• Candidate’s category
• Railway preferences
• Available vacancies
• Eligibility conditions

As a result, passing CBAT alone does not guarantee final selection.

Tie-Breaking Rule

If two or more candidates receive the same combined marks, RRB places the older candidate higher in the merit list.

If their ages are also the same, RRB uses the alphabetical order of their names from A to Z.

       RRB Section Controller DV Shortlisting Ratio

RRB shortlists candidates for Document Verification in a 1:1 ratio against the vacancies available in each RRB.

For example, an RRB with 20 vacancies may initially call 20 candidates for Document Verification.

However, candidates must still meet all eligibility, certificate and medical rules. Therefore, a place on the shortlist does not guarantee appointment.

  Difference Between CBT and CBAT Scorecards

Candidates should not confuse the two scorecards.

In simple terms, CBT checks general examination performance. On the other hand, CBAT tests the aptitude required for the Section Controller post.

RRB released the CBT result and scorecard in May 2026. Later, it released the CBAT result, cut-off and scorecard on 30 June 2026.

        What Happens After the RRB CBAT Result 2026?

Candidates shortlisted through the combined merit list will move to the next recruitment stages.

These stages include:

1. Document Verification
2. Medical Examination
3. Final certificate checks
4. Character and background verification
5. Appointment by the concerned Railway administration

RRBs only recommend the names of selected candidates. The concerned Railway administration issues the final appointment.

Meanwhile, candidates should keep their registered mobile number and email address active.

RRB may send updates through SMS or email. However, candidates should also check their regional RRB website regularly.

    RRB Section Controller Document Verification

Candidates should follow the final document list given in their DV call letter.

In general, they should keep these documents ready:

• DV e-call letter
• Printed RRB application form
• Class 10 certificate
• Graduation degree or provisional certificate
• Graduation mark sheets
• Valid photo identity proof
• Category certificate, if applicable
• EWS certificate, if applicable
• Ex-Servicemen documents, if applicable
• No Objection Certificate, if required
• Passport-size photographs
• Any other document listed in the call letter

Candidates should bring original documents. In addition, they should keep clear photocopies ready.

RRB will check educational certificates, category documents and other eligibility records before recommending a candidate for appointment.

       RRB Section Controller Medical Examination

The Section Controller post follows the A-2 medical standard.

Therefore, shortlisted candidates must pass the Railway medical examination. The medical team will check their fitness and eyesight according to Railway rules.

The main A-2 eyesight requirements include:

• Distant vision of 6/9 and 6/9 without glasses
• Near vision of Sn 0.6 and 0.6 without glasses
• Normal colour vision
• Binocular vision
• Night vision
• Myopic vision

Candidates who have undergone LASIK or another surgery to correct refractive error do not meet the A-2 medical rule for this recruitment.

Final selection depends on:

• Successful Document Verification
• Correct educational certificates
• Valid category documents
• Required medical fitness
• Candidate eligibility

• Background and character verification

Candidates who fail the required medical standard will not receive an alternative appointment for another post.
