  • Preparation of the final merit list
  • Document verification
  • Appointment formalities

Bank of India will decide the exact selection method after considering the number of applications and eligible candidates.

Bank of India Credit Officer Exam Pattern 2026

The online examination contains two sections and carries 125 marks.

TestQuestionsMarks
English Language2525
Professional Knowledge relevant to the post100100
Total125125

Candidates receive a composite duration of 120 minutes.

The Professional Knowledge test will be available in English and Hindi. However, the English Language section will be available only in English.

English Language Section

The English Language test is qualifying in nature. Therefore, marks obtained in this section will not be added while preparing the merit list.

Nevertheless, candidates must obtain the required minimum marks in English. Failing to qualify in this section can result in disqualification.

Professional Knowledge Section

Professional Knowledge carries 100 marks and plays the main role in online-exam merit.

Bank of India will provide further exam instructions through an information handout released with the call letter. Therefore, candidates should not treat unofficial topic lists as the final syllabus.

Minimum Qualifying Marks

General and EWS candidates must secure at least 35% marks in each test.

SC, ST, OBC and PwBD candidates applying against reserved vacancies receive a relaxation of five percentage points.

Candidates must qualify separately in English Language and Professional Knowledge.

Negative Marking

The online examination carries negative marking.

For every incorrect response, the bank will deduct one-fourth of the marks assigned to that question.

However, no penalty will apply to an unanswered question. Candidates should therefore avoid random guessing.

Bank of India Credit Officer Interview

The interview carries 100 marks.

CategoryMinimum qualifying marks
General and EWS50%
SC, ST, OBC and PwBD45%

The bank may normally call candidates in a ratio of 1:3 against the available vacancies. However, it may increase this ratio at its discretion.

Merely passing the online examination does not guarantee an interview call. Candidates must also rank sufficiently high in their respective category.

Final Merit List

When Bank of India conducts both the online examination and interview, it will apply the following weightage:

Selection stageWeightage
Online examination70%
Personal interview30%

Only the Professional Knowledge marks will count toward the online-examination component of the final score.

Candidates must qualify in both stages to become eligible for final selection.

Tie-Breaking Rules

When two or more candidates obtain the same final marks:

  1. The candidate with higher online-examination marks will receive the higher position.
  2. If the online marks are also equal, the older candidate will receive preference.

When the bank does not conduct an online examination, final selection will depend entirely on interview marks.

Bank of India Credit Officer Examination Centres

The notification lists examination centres in or around the following locations:

Ahmedabad/Gandhinagar, Bengaluru, Hubballi/Dharwad, Bhopal, Indore, Ujjain, Bhubaneswar, Mohali, Chennai, Coimbatore, Dehradun, Delhi/NCR, Guwahati, Hyderabad, Vijayawada/Guntur, Visakhapatnam, Jaipur, Jammu, Kolkata, Lucknow, Agra, Kanpur, Mumbai/Thane/Navi Mumbai/MMR, Panaji, Patna, Raipur, Ranchi, Shimla, Bilaspur, Thiruvananthapuram and Ernakulam.
