Aspiring Post Graduate Teachers (PGT) in Uttar Pradesh will need to adjust their study plans as the Uttar Pradesh Secondary Education Services Selection Board (UPSESSB) has officially postponed the UP PGT 2025 examination. Originally slated for July 18 and 19, the exam will now be conducted in the last week of August 2025. This critical update impacts thousands of candidates vying for teaching positions across the state.

UP PGT 2025 New Exam Date Announcement

The UPSESSB, based in Allahabad, cited “unavoidable reasons” for the deferment of the UP PGT 2025 exam. Candidates are advised to regularly check the official UPSESSB website, upsessb.pariksha.nic.in, for the precise revised schedule and any further announcements. This postponement allows candidates additional preparation time for this highly competitive examination.

UP TGT 2025 Exam: No Changes to Schedule

In contrast to the PGT exam, there are no changes to the Uttar Pradesh Trained Graduate Teacher (UP TGT) 2025 examination schedule. The UP TGT exam will proceed as planned on July 21 and 22, 2025. Candidates preparing for the TGT exam should continue their preparations according to the original dates.

Significant Recruitment Drive for TGT and PGT Posts

This recruitment drive by the UPSESSB aims to fill a substantial 4163 vacancies across both TGT and PGT cadres. Specifically, 2539 vacancies are designated for the TGT position, while 625 posts are available for PGT. These opportunities are crucial for strengthening the secondary education system in Uttar Pradesh.

While the new PGT exam date is still pending, candidates should be aware of the admit card download process. The UPSESSB typically releases hall tickets approximately 10 days before the examination date.

  1. Visit the official UPSESSB website: Navigate to upsessb.org.
  2. Access “Current Openings”: Look for and click on the “Current Openings” section on the homepage.
  3. Select the PGT option: Within “Current Openings,” locate and click on the PGT specific option.
  4. Read instructions carefully: Before proceeding, thoroughly read all the information provided.
  5. Click on the UP PGT Admit Card Download Link: Once ready, click on the designated admit card download link.
  6. Log in to your account: You will be prompted to enter your registration number and password.
  7. Download and Print: After successful login, download your hall ticket and ensure you take a printout for examination day and future reference.
