Home » Israel-Iran Missile Conflict Enters Fourth Day Amid Rising Tensions

The escalating conflict between Israel and Iran has entered its fourth consecutive day, with no signs of de-escalation. Hostilities intensified following Israel’s surprise offensive targeting Iran’s strategic assets, including a strike on the world’s largest gas field and the Iranian Defence Ministry headquarters in Tehran.

According to Israeli military sources, early Sunday strikes also targeted multiple sites around Tehran allegedly linked to Iran’s nuclear weapons program. This comes as both nations continue exchanging heavy missile and drone attacks, raising concerns of a wider regional war.

Key Developments So Far:

  • Israel Targets Tehran: On Sunday, Israel claimed to have struck Iran’s Defence Ministry in Tehran along with nuclear-related infrastructure across the capital.
  • Iran Retaliates: In response, Iran has launched multiple waves of missile and drone attacks, with over 224 people reported killed in Iran since Friday—most of them civilians, according to Iranian authorities.
  • Israeli Casualties: At least 24 people have been killed and 400 injured in Israel due to Iranian strikes, according to Israeli emergency services.
  • Trump Assassination Plot Claim: Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu, in an interview with Fox News, alleged that Iran’s Islamic regime had identified former U.S. President Donald Trump as a threat to its nuclear ambitions and had plotted to assassinate him.
  • U.S. Intervention: A senior U.S. official revealed that President Trump vetoed an Israeli proposal to assassinate Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, despite Israeli intelligence suggesting a window of opportunity.
  • Diplomatic Impasse: Iran has reportedly informed mediators from Qatar and Oman that it will not consider a ceasefire while under Israeli attack, according to sources cited by Reuters.
  • Calls for Negotiation: Despite the ongoing violence, Trump stated on Sunday that Iran and Israel “should make a deal, and will make a deal,” indicating potential future diplomatic efforts.

What This Means

The continued exchange of missile fire has alarmed regional and global powers, with fears mounting that this conflict could spill over into neighboring countries. The lack of willingness from either side to negotiate a ceasefire further complicates peace efforts in the Middle East.
