NCERT Honeydew focuses on developing comprehensive skills of the students. The book comprises of various poetries, stories, various extracts from novels. The book includes several activities, language and vocabulary skills. CBSE Class 8 English conceptualize the increase of imagination of the students through introducing character building and plot structures.

Whereas, NCERT It So Happened comprises of short stories and aims to develop critical thinking skills of the students. It is added in CBSE Class 8 syllabus of English, to build thought-provoking necessities in the students for expanding their skills. The book also focuses on critical perspective growth of the students and writing skills.
